چکیده

The evolution of a stellar disk under the influence of viscous evolution, photoevaporation from the central source, and photoevaporation by external stars is studied. We take the typical parameters of TTSs and the Trapezium Cluster conditions. The photoionizing flux from the central source is assumed to arise both from the quiescent star and accretion shocks at the base of stellar magnetospheric columns, along which material from the disk accretes. The accretion flux is calculated self-consistently from the accretion mass loss rate. We find that the disk cannot be entirely removed using only viscous evolution and photoionization from the disk-star accretion shock. However, when FUV photoevaporation by external massive stars is included the disk is removed in 10−10yr; and when EUV photoevaporation by external massive stars is included the disk is removed in 10 − 10yr. An intriguing feature of photoevaporation by the central star is the formation of a gap in the disk at late stages of the disk evolution. As the gap starts forming, viscous spreading and photoevaporation work in resonance. When viscous

Destruction of Stellar Disks by Photoevaporation

Photoevaporation may provide an explanation for the short lifetimes of disks around young stars. With the exception of neutral oxygen lines, the observed low-velocity forbidden line emission from T Tauri stars can be reproduced by photoevaporating models. The natural formation of a gap in the disk at several AU due to photoevaporation and viscous spreading provides a possible halting mechanism ...

Models of the Structure and Evolution of Protoplanetary Disks

We review advances in the modeling of protoplanetary disks. This review will focus on the regions of the disk beyond the dust sublimation radius, i.e. beyond 0.1 1 AU, depending on the stellar luminosity. We will be mostly concerned with models that aim to fit spectra of the dust continuum or gas lines, and derive physical parameters from these fits. For optically thick disks, these parameters ...

We construct a protostellar disk model that takes into account the combined effect of viscous evolution, photoevaporation and the differential radial motion of dust grains and gas. For T Tauri disks, the lifetimes of dust disks that are mainly composed of millimeter sized grains are always shorter than the gas disks’ lifetimes, and become similar only when the grains are fluffy (density . 0.1 g...

Time-Evolution of Viscous Circumstellar Disks due to Photoevaporation by FUV, EUV and X-ray Radiation from the Central Star

We present the time evolution of viscously accreting circumstellar disks as they are irradiated by ultraviolet and X-ray photons from a low-mass central star. Our model is a hybrid of a 1D time-dependent viscous disk model coupled to a 1+1D disk vertical structure model used for calculating the disk structure and photoevaporation rates. We find that disks of initial mass 0.1M⊙ around ∼ 1M⊙ star...

Stellar Mass Dependent Disk Dispersal

We use published optical spectral and IR excess data from nine young clusters and associations to study the stellar mass dependent dispersal of circumstellar disks. All clusters older than ∼3Myr show a decrease in disk fraction with increasing stellar mass for Solar to higher mass stars. This result is significant at about the 1σ level in each cluster. For the complete set of clusters we reject...
